THE CHINESE DILEMMA

India is a country blessed by the Almighty. Inspite of endemic corruption, outside influence to curb its progress and parasitic political leadership for most of the time, Indian economy has been growing at a decent pace. Though many claim credit for this growth, but they conveniently ignore the fact that India has been the epicenter of world business for Ages. Starting from the days precursor to Harappa, Sangam culture the whole world is hungry to trade with India. India lies in the center dominating position of silk route at sea and land. Every stake holder has to wary of Indian influence for conducting smooth business. As per China, it was never a leader or benefactor to the silk trade, but it has been the largest manufacturer of goods since ages. But the benefactors were always the Indians due to the trade and link it has with the outside world. The Muslim invaders rule for 800 years and British rule of 200 years really did a great harm to the Indian economy and image. India forgot its potential and importance. This was augmented by the corrupt Bureaucracy and politicians for another 70 years.

Now we look at the emergence of China for a model to progress and forget that actually China followed our model to be successful in business. The China of isolation as described by Marco Polo has turned itself into India of 500BC now. What India needs to do is to recover from the self imposed Bigotry of pseudo thoughts and come out with the original idea of inclusive business devoid of any favouaratism. We must promote competitive environment for growth. The reservation system, minority appeasement must be stopped outright. No one should have a feeling about their caste or religion to influence their decisions towards growth. This is only possible if we derecognize the institutionalization of these entities by giving reservations, separate electorate etc. Every indian has to thrive for self growth which will automatically fuel for the growth of the country as a whole. The evil effects of segregation within society is clearly evident now in today's India. Every kilometer you travel people are demanding new status like sc, st etc. Every election you observe you see the fervor of religious, casteist sentiments. This is dolorous for us. I request the political leadership to make strong decisions to get rid of the social dogmas and increase the pace of Growth in India. I don't give credit to anyone for present growth. It was bestowed upon us by the Geopolitical location.

History is the only source which gives us an idea how we the humans can totally become alien to our own habits, culture, nature, diet. Ragi and Horsegram were evident in Assam and Meghalaya during Middle Paleolithic age. Evidence shows it. But now we look at both these as foreign cereals. Perfect grid system was used to build cities like Harappa, Mohenjodaro, Lothal, Kalibangan etc with straight roads intersecting in right angles. Oval sized Harappan cities were present in Haryana with Radial roads emanating from centre. Mesopotamian civilization was only one eighth the size of Indus valley civilization. But now in India, we can't plan a modern city. The expertise achieved 6/7 thousand years ago is lost. We need Le Corbusier to plan Chandigarh or Gandhinagar. When Gallileo was jailed for going against the orthodox church in Europe, Indian scientists already calculated circumference of the earth, found out that the earth was spherical, Sun is a star, 9 planets of the solar system. Indians were playing with numbers, 0 was extensively used. Astronomy was sponsored by the kings and nobles. Kathenotheism was an all acceptable trend. Now we are in India, where religious and cultural fanatism are at its peak. Harappan civilization was discovered in 1920s and we are yet to decipher the script though extensive studies are being carried out for quite some time. Lately, we are again trying to revive the lost knowledge and glory. ISRO, BARC, TIFR, are doing well, but not enough without the participation of the masses. Let the neo Renaissance begin in India. Let scientific temper trouble the young minds more than ever. Let the young hearts sail out to extract the maximum from Enterpreneurship and trade. New India is never forthcoming, but revival of the Old India is surely a matter of time. Let the fourth cycle of neo Urbanization begin in Indian sub continent. (First Harappan, second Mauryan till Gupta and third being with the arrival of Turks and the prosperous kingdoms like Vijayanagara. Presently the urbanization in India is creeping up uncontrolled and unplanned. This is dangerous to the nation and its ecosystem. Knowledge of Science is the key. Let advanced studies be encouraged in the fields of more modern subjects like nano technology, Robotics etc. Let us not become another Harappan site( thrived for more than 5000 years). Guys human history is not 5/6 thousand old. It is much older than millions of years. So it won't be very difficult to be a lost civilization. Let's thrive for excellence and knowledge.
